for you What is poetry?
Poetry is for me a way to catch small pieces of infinity and reveal them as being like a photo negative, using the word.
Could you tell us a little about your life, of his published works, awards, his literary activity?
Since 1999, I think full-time poet. As I said in the preface of my book "Vademecum" Poetry is my way of life. I get up in the morning and turn on the light poem to raise the shade. I open the hot water line, I mix with the cold so it does not scorch my soul and enjoy aromatic metaphors while I shower gel. Syneresis breakfast a cup of mate and a couple of cupcakes and I face the blank computer screen.
That vocation has led me to write and publish ten books of poetry and participate in numerous anthologies. I recently received the Poetry Award Sarmiento, in the city of Valladolid.
When did you write? Why?
I started writing very young, influenced by some familiar literary tradition, as the Galician poet Manuel Antonio and my grandfather Roxerius. Then I spent, in line with my work as Chief of Protocol, to write speeches for politicians, which was a great learning experience because I believe they are the opposite of what should be poetry. In the speeches are used many words to say nothing, and poetry should say much with few words. When I left the protocol activity I took up a love of literature to devote full time it, combining it with the editorial activity.
How would you describe your poetry?
There are poets who initially written to one record. I like to investigate new records. Perhaps that is why I have written in almost all records I know, always trying to adjust to my style. Romanticism, existentialism, poetry of the occurrence or the wit, social poetry pamphlet but not using poetic devices are some of the horizons in moving my poetry.
What authors influenced your poetry?
For me there are three books that have had a great influence. "Residence on Earth" by Pablo Neruda, "Altazor" by Vicente Huidobro and "Poet in New York" by Federico García Lorca. "Canto General by Pablo Neruda also represented my meeting with the pace.
What is the order you would like to accomplish with your poetry?
is difficult to define what we look for in poetry. Particularly I think it's a way to perform well, why not try to transcend myself.
What poem would you choose if you had to choose one special? Why?
Undoubtedly "Altazor" by Vicente Huidobro, which allowed me to get to know metaphors whose rereading creationists and always leaves me in a state of poetic elevation which allows me greater creativity.
How poetic language has changed over the years?
I think I've gradually become more and more airtight and have been drifting toward poetic prose.
For you are born or become a writer?
A script can be reached by multiple causes and pathways, but have conditions that psychologists call "capacity for writing "and with which it has worldwide, is important and helpful.
What advice would you give to a young writer / writer who began in this beautiful way of the WORD?
Early in my life thought that intelligence was one of the most important virtues a person should possess. Over time I realized that consistency, persistence in the way, despite the walls or obstacles to jump or down, is what truly allows anyone to achieve its objectives.
How do you see the publishing industry today?
The publishing world is changing. Gradually closing the publishing medium and small proliferate, while large survive thanks to great promotions that actually benefit only a few authors. I think that fragmentation of the industry will continue. The marketing of books tends to consolidate over the Internet in parallel with the closure of many libraries. The future walks to books published in small editions, almost to the letter, but will persist bestseller large publishers.
If I had to recommend a book of poetry, prose, short stories, novels etc. What would you recommend?
recommend
poetry the three mentioned above. As for the prose and the novel, my editorial activity forces me to read many new authors and I have left much time for reading like I do, so I do not feel a special predilection to any particular I've read recently.
What do you think of new ways of spreading the word, whether on web sites, literary cyber forums, virtual magazines, ñusleter, blogs etc?
think they are doing a great job in interconnecting authors from different countries and help the dissemination of his writing. However, I have also literature become a kind of jungle, full of peacocks oversized ego, perhaps to mask many shortcomings of self-esteem. This jungle will clarify over time, as you begin to make a serious and objective literary criticism on the network, which did not happen today.
